Students and teachers are exempt from mobilization – the Law

Teachers, students and researchers of higher educational establishments shall be exempt from mobilization.

The relevant law №2620 of July 21 was signed by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the press service of the Verkhovna Rada informed.

Under the agreement, students, postgraduate students and doctoral students on full-time training shall not be subject to conscription to military service during the mobilization.

Research and teaching staff, who have academic title or scientific degree and work in universities, scientific institutions and organizations, shall not be subject to conscription too.

Servicemen of this category of population, who were called up for military service before the entry into force of this law, shall be demobilized unless they want to continue military service.

This law will take effect from the day following the day of its publication.
