Strongmen competitions were a great success at the celebration of the 603th Anniversary of Velykyj Bereznyj. All the people unanimously supported their fellow-townsman, 20-years’ old Volodymyr Tsyfra. Everyone also liked the performance of his colleague, the winner of the tournament "Junior strongman" and prize-winner of the international competition "Carpathian Bear" Olexij Maltsev.
The head of the Carpathian power-round league Ivan Hryhorovsky comments on the development of this non-Olympic discipline in Transcarpathia:
– I’m very optimistic as to the future. We have started in 2004, and in short time we managed to take few steps forward. We spent eight tournaments "Carpathian Bear," and the next one, by the way, will be held on Sunday, August 26, in Uzhgorod. We invite everyone to Teatralna square where competition will start at 2 pm. We expect also Slovak strongmen to participate in this year’s international competition.
