Romanian specialist in geophysics Royu Niku reported that the next week, a major earthquake may happen that could also affect Ukraine. Presumably, the earthquake epicenter will be located near Chisinau. The power of the earthquake will be about 8 on the Richter scale.
According to experts, the earthquake will be much stronger than that that struck on August 31, 1986, when nearly a thousand people were injured as a result of aftershocks in Chisinau. Then the earthquake damaged about 55 thousand houses, over 12.5 million people were left without home.
Seismologists have warned that residents of the southern and western regions of Ukraine should be prepared for natural disasters. The earthquake can cause hurricanes and sea storms. It is assumed that Kyiv and surrounding areas will not experience serious aftershocks.
In Transcarpathia, in mountainous areas, landslides may occur.
