Starting from January 1, train tickets will again be sold on presentation of passports

From now on, in order to board the train a person again will need to bring identification, which may be either a passport or a student card, military card, etc.

Ministry of Infrastructure reintroduces personalized sales of train tickets as of January 1, 2013.

As the Deputy Prime Minister of Infrastructure Borys Kolesnikov explained, it is a necessary measure due to speculation and corruption.

According to him, "UZ" and the Ministry of Infrastructure receive thousands of letters from passengers requesting to introduce personalized tickets. In addition, according to Kolesnikov, it was found out about speculation on the part of employees of the Railways: cashiers and conductors. "We checked one train – and out of 120 passengers 90 did not have tickets. The railway works for passengers, so there can not be any speculation. It is the most important thing", – said the Deputy Prime Minister.

"UZ" canceled sales of tickets on presentation of passports or other documents of identity in November 2007.
