Yesterday, during the operation "Frontier-2017" at the Ukrainian-Romanian border, border guards of the Mukachevo detachment prevented an attempt to smuggle nearly 6,000 packs of cigarettes.
Border patrol of the "Dilove" department detected a Toyota Land Cruiser approaching the border. Five people came out of this car and began to unload packages wrapped in black polyethylene. Having noticed the border guards, the man fled, leaving the vehicle and 12 packages of tobacco products behind.
The abandoned packages contained 5780 packs of cigarettes "Marble" without excise stamps.
Currently, the car and the found tobacco products have been delivered to the department of the Border Guard Service "Dilove". Measures to identify the persons involved in the unlawful activities are being taken.
