Today, border guards of the Chop detachment stopped a daring attempt of illegal transportation of tobacco products across the border. An offender planned to smuggle three packages of cigarettes from Ukraine to Slovakia using a hexacopter.
After receiving information about possible illegal activity, servicemen of the boder guard service department "Uzhgorod" conducted a number of special measures to detain the offenders. As a result of the search operations, on the outskirts of the village of Storozhnytsya in Uzhgorod district, they found a car "Hyundai". The driver, a resident of the border area, refused to obey legal orders of the border guards to provide the vehicle for inspection, so he was fined under Art. 185-10 of the CAO.
Interacting agencies were informed about this incident. After completion of procedural measures, the car was inspected. There, they found a "hexacopter" drone with four batteries and packages with nearly 500 packs of cigarettes.
Law enforcers decumented the violation. The citizen and his "instruments of crime" was handed over to the National Police.
