The problem of slippery sidewalks and roads in Uzhgorod is not new. But if in the city center, it is more or less safe to walk, elsewhere the situation is significantly worse.
For example, Slovyanska embankment. Although it is not as crowded as Kyivska or Nezalezhnist embankment, people often walk dogs there, jog (yes, even on such ice), and mothers walk with strollers.
However, it is not really safe to walk there. From the Bozdosh park to the Masaryk bridge everything is covered with ice. The paths obviuosly have not been cleaned, only stamped in the snow.
Passers-by have a choice: either to walk on a slippery path, or walk on the snow which in some places turned into bumpy ice.
Recalling the recent speech of the Deputy Mayor Istvan Tsap, when he advised Uzhgorod residents to not complain in social networks, but take shovels and clear sidewalks from snow, one has a reasonable question: why can’t people, whose professional duty it is, do it?
