Significant deterioration of weather conditions and rise of water levels in the rivers is expected in Transcarpathia

According to the Transcarpathian Hydrometeorological Center, in the evening of the 16th and at night on the 17th of March, heavy rains are expected in Transcarpathian region.

In the central and eastern mountain areas, there will be heavy wet snow, in some places: ice, slush build-up. In the evening, there will be storms. On the mountain sections of the roads, in some places traffic will be hampered, 2nd ("yellow") level of threat. During March 17-18, an increase in water levels by 0.5-1.5 m (above the levels of 16.03, 8.00) is expected on the rivers of the region, in the lower reaches of the Borzhava river – 1.5-2.5 m. Water may reach the floodplain in the lower reaches of Borzhava and Latorytsya rivers – the city of Mukachevo.

On March 16-20, on the Latorytsya river – the city of Chop, water will remain on the floodplain.
