Showers and thunderstorms are coming back to Transcarpathia

In the second half of the night and in the afternoon of July 12, heavy showers, thunderstorms and hail are expected in most parts of Transcarpathia region and in Uzhgorod. During the day on the 12th and at night on the 13th of July, the temperature will decrease by 7-10°.

In the evening of the 11th, at night and in the morning of July 12, in most parts of the region and in the city of Uzhgorod, northwest wind is expected to increase to 13-18, in some places gusts up to 20-25 m / s, in the highlands up to 25-30 m / s (I, yellow level of danger).

On July 12, water levels on the rivers of Transcarpathia region are expected to increase by 0.3-1.0 m (above the levels as of 8.00 on July 11) within the valley walls. Due to heavy rains, on small watercourses, there will be a rapid increase in water levels by 0.5-1.0 m; formation of significant local and sloping runoff with flooding of low places, especially in settlements, due to clogging of riverbeds and drainage ditches; formation of local mudflows and landslides. As the weather situation develops, hydrological forecasts will be updated.

The risk of strong wind gusts is expected mainly in the central and western districts of Transcarpathia, the Transcarpathian Center for Hydrometeorology informs.
