In connection with the terrorist attacks in Paris, to prevent similar attacks on the territory of Ukraine, including during the second round of local elections, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine intensified security measures at the state border of Ukraine.
In particular, enhanced control at checkpoints along the border has been ensured. During control measures, particular attention will be paid to citizens coming from the countries of the risk area. In-depth passport verification and prevention of attempts to move weapons, explosives, radioactive materials and means of terror across the state border are being carried out.
Activities of border guard units have been intensified throughout the country. The number of border guard patrols protecting the areas outside checkpoints has been increased. Marine areas are protected by border guard boats and technical means of protection. Air monitoring with available aircrafts has been intensified.
The interaction of the State Border Guard Service with other law enforcement agencies of Ukraine has been coordinated to strengthen control in border areas. Reserves are ready to be used if necessary.
