School of gardening on the Black Mountain. Part One

Jiro, Zenji, In Memory of Chernyayev, Hiakume, Goverla Mountain, Roman Kosh Mountain are all varieties of one of the most popular autumn fruits – persimmon.
In Latin, the name is "Diospyros", and it is also called "food of the gods", "divine fire". And those gods are definitely not stupid, because persimmon is a truly divine fruit. In addition to being extremely tasty, it is also a source of vitamins A and C, nutrients and trace elements such as potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, iodine. Accordingly, it is beneficial for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, problems with vision and lack of iodine in the body. But be careful because the fruits also contain 25% sucrose and therefore patients with diabetes, as well as patients with thyroid diseases, when there is excess iodine, are not advised to consume them.
Persimmon’s country of origin is believed to be China, from where it was brought to Japan, and later, in the second half of the nineteenth century, to the United States.
As the Japanese say, it is a "fruit of the fruits", so savor the divinely delicious persimmon while you can (but be aware, doctors recommend up to 3 fruits a day), and next time we will share the secrets of its cultivation on the Black Mountain (Vynogradiv district, Transcarpathia).
