Road safety strategy and zero mortality will be discussed in Uzhgorod

Representatives of the NGO "Vizion Zero" Victor Zahreba and Andriy Koman, at the invitation of Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv, will come to the regional center of Transcarpathia to present their work on road safety in Ukraine and hold a roundtable on "Road Safety in Uzhgorod – room for collective action." The event will also be attended by representatives of the Office of Patrol Police in Uzhgorod and Mukachevo.
The visit of the co-founders of the "Vision Zero" to our city was initiated by the mayor’s advisor Marianna Sobran, who also suggested to develop and adopt the strategy of zero mortality on the roads in Uzhgorod.
The meeting will be held on October 25, 2016 in the Great Hall of Uzhgorod City Council. The beginning of the meeting is at 15:00.
Everyone is invited to participate.

To note. "Vision Zero" is a concept established in Sweden, which states that any road deaths are unacceptable and that we should strive to reduce this figure to zero.
The Swedes decided that it is unproductive to blame the victim for accidents. Because people have always made and will always make mistakes. So what is productive then? To build an intelligent and safe management system, in which the mortality will be decreasing continuously until it drops to zero. This approach shows impressive results in Sweden, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Netherlands and other EU countries. More than 500 major cities in Europe have reached zero mortality!
