Today the main transport artery of Uzhgorod – Svoboda Avenue all day was constantly jammed. This was caused by the repair of the road surface, which was carried out in the area of the Transport Bridge.
According to drivers, the patching repair began at about half-past nine am. That is then the Transport Bridge was blocked. Drivers complained about that on social networks and cursed strange schedules of road builders.
Drivers were able to use only one lane of the bridge, and the traffic jam stretched along Svoboda Avenue and Mytna Street. Of course, it also affected Bohdan Khmelnitsky and Druzhba Narodiv squares.
The question why such strategically important part of the road could not be repaired some other time (weekends, night time, early morning, for example) remained unanswered. "This is the order of the authorities, we are executors," – the workers answered to drivers that complained from their cars.
The apogee of the traffic jam occurred after 17.00 when people were driving home from work.
