Residents of Kalyny greeted Moskal with an original postcard (PHOTOS)

Residents of the village of Kalyny, where by the decision of the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal, a street was named in honor of John Lennon, greeted the governor with an original postcard. Hennadiy Moskal wrote about it on his page on Facebook:

"This is the New Year’s greeting I received from the village of Kalyny in Tyachiv district. The one, where under the law on discommunization, I renamed Lenin Street to John Lennon Street.

Initially, the villagers opposed the idea and even tried to change the new name to a neutral one. But when we started the repair of the street and told that we would finish it only if its named after Lennon, everything was settled.

And now, when even Transcarpathian backwoods send a greeting card with New Year’s "Beatles", it means that Ukraine finally said good-bye to the communist past and its idol Vladimir Lenin and chose Europe!

Happy New Year, brothers! Everything will be fine, everything will be The Beatles & The Best!"
