Regional deputies once again discussed the problems of owners of cars with foreign registration

During the second plenary meeting of the fifth session of the Regional Council, the deputies supported the appeal of their colleague Andriy Sheketa regarding the issue of border crossing by owners of vehicles with foreign registration and sent it to the Chop border guard detachment.

The parliamentary appeal states that members of the public organization "Western Ukraine association of owners of transit cars and cars with foreign registration" from Transcarpathia claim that in mid-November this year after blocking of the road at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod – Vysne Nemecke" by some individuals, representatives of the Chop border guard detachment installed restrictive structures that make it impossible for Ukrainian owners of cars with foreign registration to turn back. After that, the majority of motorists headed to the nearest checkpoint "Tisa" near Chop.

They emphasize that "those actions resulted in additional inconvenience for many citizens of Ukraine and citizens of other countries, who cross the state border, which in turn causes certain social tension, which is occasionally reported in the media. On the eve of New Year and Christmas holidays, when more people cross the border, the situation will only become more difficult."

Considering the above, the deputies ask border guards to take all possible measures to create favorable conditions for crossing of the state border at checkpoints.
