Regional authorities ask to restrict events on May 9

The head of the RSA Valeriy Lunchenko and the regional council chairman Ivan Baloha appealed to countrymen regarding the celebration of May 9. 

"May 9 is the Day of Victory over fascism. Given the situation in the country, we appeal to the heads of local governments in Transcarpathia to restrict mass events in order to prevent any provocations by radical elements. We call on all political forces in Transcarpathia, NGOs, activists to refuse from holding any mass events on this day for the sake of peace in our region," – the statement reads.
