Rakhiv firefighters eliminated a fire at the CBR

April 6, at 17:44, the Resvue Service of Transcarpathia was reported about burning leaves and shrubs in the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve near the village of Kostylivka in Rakhiv district.

Crews of the 3rd State Fire and Rescue Unit consisting of 1 vehicle and 5 personnel were immediately sent at the scene. They were assisted by 10 foresters of the CBR and 20 local residents. The fire was localized at 18:30 and completely eliminated – at 20:00. The flames had destroyed 2 hectares of dry leaves and shrubs. In turn, firefighters rescued from destruction of two houses and outbuildings, where the fire was spreading to.

Causes of the fire are currently being established.
