Prosecutors insist: they want to see Ponomarev and Co. behind bars

Two defendants in the corruption case in Uzhgorod city council have already been released from jail on bail.

Those are the disreputable chairman of the Land Commission Stanislav Ponomarev and an Oleg Hromadsky, who is known as a mediator in the bribe-taking.

The bail in amount of 96,000 UAH and 40,000 UAH respectively was set for them, and they already paid it.

But, the deputy prosecutor Andriy Mankut said today at the briefing that the prosecutors are considering filing an appeal in order to have them taken into custody.  The prosecutor’s office have 5 days to file an appeal. The prosecutor however did not state any arguments for appeals, although made it clear that they are already being prepared.
