Unused and unprofitable – no carriers have been found for four city routes in the regional center, so a new tender for them will be conducted. Currently passenger transportation on the routes is not being carried out.
“We announced tender for seven routes, but there were only four bidders. Moreover, one of them withdrew right before the tender. We now have winners on three bus routes – 18th, 20th and 156th. Two of them – the 18th and the 20th – are already served by municipal transport. According to the decision of the tender committee, which was approved today by the executive committee decision, the contracts for municipal transport will be concluded for a period of five years,” – Petro Bobyk, the head of the department of transport, public procurement and communication of Uzhgorod city council, said in a comment to the Site of the city of Uzhgorod.
New tender procedure will be carried out for the routes that were left without bidders. These are routes 19, 26, 158 and 4. Currently passenger transportation on all those routes are not being carried out. On the route 4, as explained by the service provider, due to unprofitability.
Currently, the decision of the Executive Committee of Uzhgorod City Council has been prepared to open bus route No. 24, which will cover 35 bus stops and connect the residential districts of Dravtsi and BAM.
Soon, new vehicles will start driving on Uzhgorod routes, including new ones.
