During an expanded meeting of the Council for Regional Development of Transcarpathia, the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, emphasized that the region is rightly considered a unique gem of Ukraine and Europe.
– Nature in Transcarpathia requires attention and respect. It’s true. But it is beautiful, – the Head of the State emphasized. – And therefore I can not but mention tourism in Transcarpathia. Its possibilities are inexhaustible, because your land is a real unique gem of Europe and Ukraine.
He also pointed to the risks of natural cataclysms, which exist due to the geographical location of Transcarpathia. At the same time, Petro Poroshenko noted that, in order to prevent the catastrophic consequences of floods, projects for the construction of coastal fortifications had been developed and would be implemented in the region during 2019-2021.
The President emphasized the importance of implementing infrastructure projects related to the tourism industry.
– I want to tell you this. All tourism development projects in Transcarpathia, such as the Museum of Forest and Floating on the Chorna Rika, the restoration of the Nevytsky Castle, streamlining the access to reserves, and the development of the hotel business – all of them are important. Transcarpathia deserves to become a tourist mecca for the whole of Europe! – the Head of the State summed up.
