The burden of bank loans should be distributed among all participants, and not just rest on depositors or those who took loans.
This was stated in an interview with the ICTV channel by the President Poroshenko, speaking of the restructuring of citizens’ bank loans.
Poroshenko also mentioned the problem of abuse "by some bank owners who looted the funds entrusted to them by investors," Poroshenko said: "I, as president, have initiated a law that provides for prosecution of not only bank benificiaries but also related persons."
"No one will be able to escape from criminal responsibility," – Poroshenko said.
"If this is a burden, which lies on the whole economy and the whole society, we must fairly distribute this burden among all, and not just rely on investors, not just those who took loans. Although they have property and they need a certain restructuring," – Poroshenko said. According to him, this form is agreed with the World Bank.
"Bank owners will not escape," – he added.
