Poroshenko in Transcarpathia has opened the door to the European Union (Photofacts)

The ceremony has just taken place on the border with Slovakia at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod".

Together with Petro Poroshenko, a girl Natalie in an embroidered shirt opened the door to visa-free travel to the EU. The door was opened with a symbolic key. On the other side of the border, the Slovak President Andrej Kiska met Poroshenko.

In his speech, Poroshenko reiterated that the launch of visa-free regime was a final farewell to the Russian Empire, and the Slovak President said: "Dear neighbors, welcome to Europe."
