In the evening of March 4, during the preventive patrolling of Vynogradiv district, officers of the patrol police response team, together with district police officers and criminal police officers, detained two local residents carrying drugs.
This was reported by the communication department of Transcarpathian regional police.
A car "Ford Connect" driven by a 23-year-old resident of Vynogradiv was stopped for violation of traffic rules. While inspecting the vehicle, law enforcement officers found two backpacks with substances similar to narcotics. In the backpacks, policemen found 15 plastic bags with white and yellow powdery substances weighing about 50 grams and 5 rolls, probably with marijuana, weighing about 1 kg.
An investigation over the incdent has been launched. Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues).
While checking another car Audi driven by a 22-year-old resident of Pushkino, Vynogradiv district, police seized prepackaged narcotics and psychotropic substances. 36 bags of white crystalline substance, presumably "methamphetamine", and 4 rolls of marijuana were seized and sent for examination. The man is suspected of a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 309 (Illegal storage of narcotic substances) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Both drivers were tested. They were in a state of drug intoxication. The vehicles were seized and taken to the impound lot of the police station. The investigation in the cases continues.
