Parkomats are hidden and waiting for someone to pay for them

Last spring they planned to install in the regional center nine parking machines of "UNIPAY" brand BTR 21 model. Three of them had to be installed at paid parking lots on Fedynets street, three – on Koryatovich street, and the same quantity – on S. Petofi square. It is already winter but the parking machines are nowhere to be seen.

In April Uzhgorod mayor promised that within two weeks there woulld be four parking machines in the city, and in a month – 9 ot them.

In summer parking machines still were not installed. According to the municipal company, the work was stalled because of fiscal registers. The equipment "glitched" because there were problems with accepting notes and printing fiscal receipts, so the devices were tested.

Even though the executive committee has already set tariffs for the use of parking spaces (2 UAH per hour, 15 UAH per day, 250 UAH per month), and the ME "Uzhparkvideo" has been appointed to control parking lots, and the Testing and Certification Centre "Pivdentest" has issued the Certificate of Conformance … The promised equipment still has not been seen on the streets of the city.

However, the parkomats are actually in Uzhgorod. As "Uzhparkvideo" informed, currently all nine devices are stored in the executive committee building and completely ready to go.

"Transcarpathian State Treasury are delaying the payment, – said the chief accountant of ME "Uzhparkvideo" Irina Soina. – Untill the State Treasury makes the payment we can not pay for parking machines to the supplier – a Lviv company. Until Tuesday the debt had been over 88 thousand, but we have partially paid that amount."

"On Tuesday, 40,000 UAH were transferred to the account of the supplier. 48,000 UAH are still in the State Treasury" – assured Svitlana Korol, head of financial management department of Uzhgorod City Council.

Last week it was reported that Petofi square in the regional center, where they planned to set three parkomats, is already planned to be converted into closed pedestrian zone. In particular, as noted by Daniela Gevorgyan, the Deputy Mayor, managing the affairs of Uzhgorod city hall, parking lots should be arranged on Shvabska street. Petofi square will be free from the parking lots.
