Operational information as of 9:00 on February 4

On February 3 due to snow melting, formation of ice jams in streams and rivers of the region, rainfall, rise of the levels of groundwater, streams and rivers, 525 households, 4 residential houses, 13 basements of apartment houses, 25 hectares of farmland were flooded in 9 districts: Perechyn, Irshava, Tyachiv, Svalyava, Mukachevo, Rakhiv, Volovets, Mizhhirya and Khust districts. Also three houses and one shop were damaged.

Because of snow melting and ice drifting, 10 ice jams formed on the rivers of Borzhava, Velyka Uholka, Krasna, Odarov, Richanske, Khustets and Rika. Flood water broke onto roadbeds of 9 local roads (up to 10 cm deep), on 3 roads traffic is restricted. The most difficult situation was in Mukachevo (184 households flooded), Khust (173 households flooded) and Irshava (101 households flooded) districts. Currently, there is a decline of water level in the rivers of mountain districts (Rakhiv, Mizhhirya, Volovets and Svalyava) and rise of water levels in rivers of Perechyn, Tyachiv, Mukachevo, Khust and Irshava districts.

To eliminate ice jams, 4 pyrotechnic teams of the 2nd Special Rapid Response Center of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Khmelnytsky regions were engaged. 4 explosions were made on the rivers of Borzhava in Irshava district, Velyka Uholka in Tyachiv district, Rika in Khust district and Latorytsya in Mukachevo district (pyrotechnic team if the 128 brigade).

To divert water from households and pump water out of the basements of the flooded houses and buildings, 419 people and 69 units of equipment were engaged, including:

– From the Office of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region 75 people and 15 units of equipment, 2 boats;

– From Transcarpathian regional police 15 people and 5 units of equipment;

– From Road Service 11 people and 2 units of equipment;

– From the Tisa Basin Water Management Administration 200 people and 21 units of equipment;

– From district life support services 118 people and 24 units of equipment.
