Only Horvat agreed to talk with the public

On April 26, the OPORA presented in Uzhgorod the results of the study "Community and majoritarian deputies: finding ways for fruitful cooperation." The event was held in the format of public debate, which journalists, activists, experts and MPs themselves were invited to.

Among parliamentarians, only one of the six Transcarpathian majoritarian MPs – a representative of the faction "Bloc of Petro Poroshenko" Robert Horvat – came to the event.

According to the consultant of the OPORA in Transcarpathian region Svyatoslav Babilya, for months, activists were monitoring the activities of MPs in 105 constituencies of Ukraine.

According to the survey, in February-March 2016, Transcarpathian majoritarian deputies filed only six bills, of which only one relates to regional problems. They also regestered four draft resolutions and submitted 12 deputy’s requests, 10 of which concerned Transcarpathia.

MPs Victor Baloha, Mykhailo Lanyo, Pavlo Baloha have not submitted a single deputy’s request.  MPs Pavlo Baloha and Vasyl Petyovka, did not register a single bill between February and March.

After an exchange of opinions, there was a discussion with MP Robert Horvat regarding the work of the Parliament, the interaction of majoritarian MPs with local authorities and the search for improved communication between elected representatives and the community.

Details of the work of the Parliament are available on rada.oporaua.org, of the activities of Transcarpathian MPs – in the appropriate section.
