“Only cars for spare parts!”: Transcarpathian rally against human trafficking (PHOTO)

The nationwide rally "Only cars for spare parts!" started in Transcarpathia to draw public attention to the criminal problem of trafficking in human organs  

The organizer of the rally in Transcarpathian region is the Transcarpathian public women’s organization (TPWO) "Vesta" in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration. 
  

According to Inna Szabados, the head of the TPWO "Vesta", this campaign started today simultaneously in 17 regions of Ukraine. The organizers consider it necessary to explain to the public the dangers associated with participation in illegal transplantation of organs as a donor or a recruiter.

The event was held as part of the International Campaign "16 days of Combating Gender Violence" and to the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery. In Uzhgorod, the participants formed a convoy and headed to Mukachevo. On central squares of the cities – Narodna and Myr – the activists informed about the problem of human trafficking for the purpose of extracting and selling organs.
