One thousand Danube salmons have been released into the Latorica river

About a thousand fries of Danube salmon have been released into the Transcarpathian Latorica. This type of salmon is listed as endangered species. However, despite the ban, hunting for this species of salmon continues. Poachers catch them during spawning.

State fish conservation service of the region carries out the stocking.

Danube salmon spawns at 4-5 years age when its weight reaches more than 2 pounds.

Provided the proper conditions are created, in a few years the Latorica river will be inhabited with this valuable representative of the Danube basin rivers.
