Prosecutors of Uzhgorod demanded the custody for the man suspected of rape combined with robbery, the prosecutor’s spokesman reported.
It is known that the victim reported to the police that a 35-year-old man had had sexual intercourse with her without her consent. During the procedural measures in this criminal case, Uzhgorod prosecutors found out that after the rape, the man had also robbed the victim.
The request for arrest, made by prosecutors, was granted by investigating judge of the Uzhgorod city and district court. Thus, the said offenses are sublect to liability under Part 2 of Art.186 and Part 1 of Art.152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – namely repeated robbery, accompanied by violence, which is dangerous to life or health of the victim, and rape, that is sexual intercourse with the use of physical violence. Under applicable law, these crimes shall be punishable by imprisonment for a term of four to six years for robbery, and imprisonment for a term of three to five years for rape.
