November 21 marks 100 years since the birth of the famous Ukrainian director and actor, the first Hamlet of Ukrainian theater Yaroslav Helyas. For years, the master was working at the Transcarpathian Music and Drama Theatre as director and actor.
On the occasion of the master’s anniversary, on Sunday, November 20, at 18.00, the Transcarpathian Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater will show Shakespeare’s tragedy "Hamlet" directed by the master’s son Yaroslav Helyas and starring his grandson Lyubomyr in the main role.
On Monday, November 21, at 16.00, in the building of the Transcarpathian Regional Puppet Theater "Bavka", there will be the opening of a memorial plaque to Yaroslav Helyas (it was the building of the drama theater when the master was working there). At 17.00, the concert dedicated to the anniversary of the famous actor and director will take place in the puppet theater.
