October 14, Eastern Rite Christians celebrate the Holy Protection Day. In Uzhgorod, there is a sacred placer, "dubbed" in honor of the holiday. This refers to the early 20th century church simulating Russian architecture, which is located near the regional Prosecutor’s Office.

"Over 350 thousand crowns was spent for the building of the Holy Protection church at the now Pravoslavna embankment – historian Yuriy Danilets says. – Although, before the construction, they had only 13… It was built in a very short time – less than a year."
