On the eve of the winter: there may be avalanches in the Carpathians

The third level of avalanche hazard is expected in the highlands of Ivano-Frankivsk and the eastern part of Transcarpathian regions, – the "LigaBusinessInform" reports referring to the State Emergencies Service.

"On November 27, due to heavy precipitation, a significant avalanche hazard (third level) is expected in the highlands of Ivano-Frankivsk and the eastern part of Transcarpathian region," – the statement said.

It is also reported that on November 26-27, as a result of precipitation, an increase of water levels is expected on the rivers of Transcarpathia by 0.3-1 m, in the lower reaches of Latorytsya and Borzhava – by 1-2 m above current levels, without negative consequences.

According to weather forecasters, today, November 26, it will be cloudy throughout Ukraine. In the daytime, rain, sometimes wet snow is expected in western regions, and in other regions – no precipitation.
