Uzhgorod police checked points of sale of pyrotechnic products for compliance with rules of sale and safety regulations, the site of the regional Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
Under current law, fireworks may be sold only to persons who are 18 years of age or older and only through specialty stores and departments. Vendors must be licensed to perform this type of business and give every buyer the instructions with safety measures. In addition, the product itself must be certified, bear a stamp and labeling.
Unscrupulous sellers of fireworks face administrative responsibility: the maximum penalty for such offenses is the imposition of a fine in amount of up to one hundred months wages with confiscation of fireworks.
