On the Day of Ukrainian-Slovak Neighborliness, they plan to sign a protocol on cooperation between Transcarpathia and Kosice Self-Governing Region

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, Mykhailo Rivis, initiates the adoption of the Executive Protocol No. 10 to the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, the Transcarpathian Regional Council and the Košice Self-Governing Region for the period from May 2018 to May 2019.

The relevant protocol is signed annually during the Days of Ukrainian-Slovak Neighborliness. This year it will be held on May 26.

The document provides for specific measures and areas to be implemented during this period in order to address issues of common interest. In particular, those are the organization of visits of the heads of two regions; exchange of delegations of representatives of local authorities for the study and sharing of Slovak experience in reforming local self-government bodies; exchange of experience in the field of health care, environmental protection; assistance in improving the efficiency of the use of the existing tourist and recreational potential of the two regions; the implementation of educational, cultural and artistic programs, etc.

         It provides for establishment of the Coordinating Council for the preparation and approval of priority projects supported by the European Union under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, the Slovak Aid Program, ENI and other programs for the period of 2014-2020, the cooperation under the ZIP platform for innovation and planning of the SK-UA border zone development, support of the cooperation of Transcarpathian region with the EZUS "Via Karpatia".

The implementation of the Executive Protocol will promote active participation of the parties in programs aimed at the development of Ukrainian-Slovak cross-border cooperation, attraction of financial resources of the European Union.

         The document was published in advance on the site of the Regional Council and thus it is proposed that the deputies approve during the 11th session (07.06.18) the Executive Protocol No. 10 to the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, the Transcarpathian Regional Council and the Košice Self-Governing Region for the period from May 2018 to May 2019 scheduled for signing on May 26, 2018 at the checkpoint Uzhgorod – Vysne Nemecke.
