From 12 to 18 of November the Traffic Police will be holding the All-Ukrainian Road Safety Week. This was informed by the UBR with reference to the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kyiv.
Target operations: "Attention! Pedestrians on the road", "Mobile phone" and "Seat belt," planned for the event, speak for themselves.
The police want to draw attention to issues of road safety. As you know, Ukraine is the third country in Europe by the number of traffic accidents: on average every day 11 people are killed on the road in our country. During the first half of this year, the country lost more than 2 thousand people.
23.8% of accidents occur as a result of exceeding safe speed, and in the second place is violation of maneuvering rules – 19.7%.
According to the police, accident with fatalities usually occur at night and on the road that has a quality pavement. Every third negligent driver is under 30 years.
