The highlight of this year’s Independence Day celebrations in Uzhgorod will be the flower arrangement on Narodna Square. On a huge banner measuring eight by eight meters, florists will lay out real chrysanthemums in the shape of the map of Ukraine, and the Transcarpathia will be highlighted with colored flowers according to the flags of the national minorities.
In addition, a flower trident will be made, and a festive photo zone will be mounted in front of the banner. The florists will start in the morning of August 22 and will be working all day to finish the arrangement by August 23, the Day of the State Flag.
The flower map and trident are a gift to Transcarpathians and guests of the region from the regional state administration and Uzhgorod city council.
Recall that last year, on the Independence Day, Narodna Square was decorated with a huge trident made of chrysanthemums, this flower arrangement became a very popular place for photo sessions.
