Officers of the customs post “Solotvyno” will be prosecuted for noncompliance with regulations

The management of the Transcarpathian customs office believe that it is necessary to resolutely and effectively get rid of those who use public service for their own enrichment, undermining the authority of the office.

Thus, at the initiative of the management of the Transcarpathian customs office, an internal audit in respect of the officers of the customs post "Solotvyno" was conducted, and it was found out that in the period from 10 to 14 of February, officers of the customs office, abusing their official position, in favor of third parties, performed customs clearance of 8 vehicles crossing the state border to enter Ukraine through the "green corridor" without cargo. However, an internal investigation revealed that these vehicles, registered as empty, actually were transporting to Ukraine from Romania "products containing chocolate and cocoa."

These violations by the officers of the customs post resulted in underpayment to the budget of large amounts of money – around half a million hryvnia.

All materials on violations by the officers of the customs post "Solotvyno" were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region, which initiated criminal proceedings over the abuse of office.
