In the Slovak city of Kosice, public order is ensured by the mounted police, the Mukachevo.net informs. They also work in remote areas which are inaccessible for cars.
It should be noted that the Hungarian border near the checkpoint "Luzhanka-Beregsurany" is also protected by the mounted police.
They patrol remote places withing the 11 kilometers stretch of the so-called "green" section of the border where there is a lot of smuggling and illegal immigration activity.
