Next year, the EU will reduce import duties for Ukraine

The EU will unilaterally prolong trade preferences for Ukrainian goods, unilaterally reducing custom duties to the level provided for in the Association Agreement starting January 1, 2015, preliminary having prolonged autonomous trade preferences until December 31, 2015.

This was stated by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development.

According to the decision of the European Council dd. October 24, 2014, the regime of autonomous trade preferences, which has been in force since April 23 this year, has been extended until December 31, the Ministry’s announcement states.

Simultaneously, the decision provides for a unilateral reduction of custom duties for one year starting from January 1, 2015 to the level provided for by the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

These preferences will be in force until the entry into force of the economic part of the Association Agreement on January 1, 2016.

In addition, until December 31, 2014, Ukrainian exporters will be able to use quotas, which have not been used in the period from April 23 to October 31.
