Near the border with Romania, border guards found 2 thousand packs of cigarettes

Yesterday, during the operation "Frontier-2017", border guards of the department "Velyky Bychkiv" of the Mukachevo detachment prevented another attempt of tobacco smuggling.

While patroling, near the "Mukachevo-Rohatyn-Lviv" highway, which runs along the border with Romania, border guards noticed a vehicle and several men. However, having noticed the approaching border guards, the unknown men got into the car and fled from law enforcement officers at high speed.

First, the border guards found a package of tobacco products at the spot, where the car had stopped, at a distance of 30 meters to the border. During further searches, law enforcement officers found another 3 packages of tobacco products.

The packages, which contained 2 thousand packs of cigarettes without excise stamps, were delivered to the department of the Border Guard Service "Velyky Bychkiv". The goods will be handed over to the SFS. The search for the persons involved in this offense continues.
