NBU sold nearly 135 million at the foreign exchange auction

During the regular foreign exchange auction, the regulator allowed almost 100% of applications to purchase foreign currency and sold 134.6 million dollars.

This was reported by the National Bank on the Facebook page.

It was reported that on Thursday the central bank was ready to sell $ 200 million.

In total, the regulator received 51 applications, and allowed 50 of them from 24 banks for a total amount of 134.6 million dollars. The National Bank sold currency at the same rate of 12.95 per dollar for all banks.

As noted by the head of the National Bank of Valeria Gontareva, the exchange rate at 12.95 UAH per dollar has positive impact on the balance of payments and ensures the economic security of the Ukrainian state.

"All banks, without exception, can participate in the auction with an unlimited number of applications and minimum lots of not less than 500 thousand dollars to satisfy the customer needs for foreign currency," – the statement says.

According to the rules of the auction, banks, that fail to transfer funds to the National Bank on time or in full, are not allowed to take part in it.
