Museum of Forestry and Timber Floating in Transcarpathia is being restored (PHOTOS)

Much of the work on the restoration of the Museum of Forestry and Timber Floating on the Chorna River (Mizhhirya district of Transcarpathian region) has been completed.

– The contractor cleared the channel, made the bank reinforcement and built a lateral dam, – Hennadiy Moskal says. – The funds from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources came in the second half of the year, so, unfortunately, they cannot complete the work by the end of 2018. However, next year, as soon as the weather allows, the restoration of the museum will continue – we have both the materials and money for this. In addition, in the spring, we will repair the road leading to the museum. Next year, we will open this unique facility and add another tourist attraction for Transcarpathia and Ukraine as a whole.

Recall that the only in Europe (and one of the two in the world) Museum of Forestry and Timber Floating in Mizhhirya district, which belongs to the Ministry of Ecology and is a part of the Synevyr National Nature Park, suffered significant damage during the disastrous floods of 1998 and 2001.
