Multi-kilometer queues of trucks to the checkpoint “Uzhgorod”… have disappeared (PHOTOFACT)

Today, November 1, Uzhgorod residents driving on the bypass could see that the multi-kilometer queues of trucks, that were there for more than a week from the cargo terminal up to Hranitna street, have disappeared. The traffic is going as usually, and the customs office is working normally too.

In the photo, we can see empty roadsides along the Shakhta and Pidlypnyky neighbourhoods.

Drivers and customs representatives explain that occasional accumulation of trucks occurs when carriers’ permits for driving through Poland expire, so the main traffic flow for some time runs through Slovakia. The customs throughput is not designed for such peak loads. In addition, truck traffic in Slovakia on weekends is prohibited, so drivers prefer to stay for weekends in Ukraine.
