Moskal: “Hungary will provide Transcarpathia with chlorine for purifying drinking water”

In Transcarpathia, liquid chlorine is used for the disinfection of drinking water at 18 enterprises of the water utility. Due to the shutdown of the Ukrainian company "Dnipro-Azot", the stock of chlorine for the uninterrupted operation of the pump-filtering stations of the region will last just for several weeks.

After that, the enterprises will be forced to stop centralized supply of water to the citzens, which will inevitably lead to an outbreak of infectious diseases. To prevent this, Hennadiy Moskal appealed to the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod requesting to supply to Transcarpathia liquid chlorine needed for purification of drinking water.

– Today we have received the answer that Hungary, which is a producer of chlorine, responded to our request and will provide Transcarpathia with this humanitarian aid, – H. Moskal says. – The mechanism for the fastest transportation of liquid chlorine is now being determined, and we expect it to arrive next week. Preliminarily, it will be a month and a half stock of chlorine for Transcarpathia, and in that time, hopefully, the "Dnipro-Azot" will resume its production. On behalf of the entire Transcarpathia, I express my sincere gratitude to the Government of Hungary, which always responds to the problems of the region and helps.
