More than three million hryvnia is to be allocated over the next five years for the program of the development of education, culture and traditions of national minorities in 2016 – 2020.
Currently, in the region, there are 60 regional public organizations of ethnic communities, 112 secondary schools, five private high schools, 78 pre-schools where teaching is conducted in minority languages. In areas densely populated by minorities, there are 94 cultural institutions with 469 amateur groups and 97 libraries.
The funds provided under the program are to be allocated for the implementation and development of multilingual education in institutions of the region, the organization and holding of scientific conferences, seminars, cultural and educational activities aimed at promoting tolerance, respect for the history, language and traditions of different nationalities.
