Uzhgorod garrison military prosecutor’s office is conducting pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding over violation of rules for handling weapons by a soldier of the Chop border guard detachment which led to his death.
It was established that on June 20, 2017 around 13.40, in the territory of the department "Kamianytsia" of the border guard service division "Huta" of the Chop border guard detachment, a soldier with a gunshot wound to the head was found. Near the victim, they found a rifle "AK-74" issued to him for patrolling the military camp. The soldier died from the received wound in an ambulance vehicle on the way to the hospital.
Military prosecutors are establishing all the circumstances of the criminal offense, which has been registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations under Part 2 of Art. 414 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The pretrial investigation continues.
