Migration Service of Transcarpathia summed up the year

The performance of the migration service of Transcarpathia for the last year 2014 was analyzed today, January 21, at the expanded board of the Main Office of the SMS of Ukraine in the region. 

First of all, the head of the regional Migration Service Igor Mykhailyshyn reported about personnel changes. By the order of the Head of the SMS of Ukraine, Andriy Ostash was appointed the head of Vynogradiv district department of the regional SMS of Ukraine office. 

Regarding the results of work in the last year, the Main Office units issued more than 82 thousand travel passports (in 2013 – 55 and a half thousand). 12 and a half thousand minors received children travel documents. Also, 294 applications for citizenship of Ukraine were accepted, and 976 departures for permanent residence abroad were registered. The most desirable countries for emmigrants from Transcarpathians traditionally are Hungary and the Czech Republic. More than 27 thousand people received passports of a citizen of Ukraine. 

The First Deputy Head of the Main Office of the SMS of Ukraine in the region Oleksandr Berdar drew attention of heads of district departments to compliance with the law in the provision of administrative services through centers of administrative services. As you know, last November, 9 units of the migration service in the region stopped accepting appropriate statements from citizens. 

It was also emphasized on the need for greater control over the movement and stay of foreigners in Ukraine. Thus, in 2014, 953 foreign nationals were registered with the Main Office. In cooperation with the police and border guards, 128 illegal migrants were found. The head of the regional Migration Service Igor Mykhailyshyn ordered to develop a series of measures to combat illegal migration and to identify violators of immigration law. Following the board, a number of other decisions were approved that will improve the work of the Migration Service in Transcarpathia.
