Mid-20th century tradition will be revived at the New Wine Festival in Beregovo

New wine has arrived! This is how in late November the first barrels of new season’s wine are greeted in France.

In Transcarpathia, new wine holidays have their own history. They are held in the largest cities of the region and, of course, in wine-producing districts. This year, they decided to hold in Beregovo an event that aims to become a new tradition. And at the same time, to recreate the tradition still remembered by the oldest winemakers of Beregovo district.

The leading Transcarpathian winery invites you to see how the first barrel of wine was greeted in Beregovo in the middle of the last century and to visit a holiday in the Chizay tract.

The elegant and colorful event will take place in Beregovo on Sunday, November 24, the day when Beaujolais Nouveau is celebrated in Europe. The program includes: delivery of the first barrel of wine from Mala Hora on a horse-drawn carriage, parade, celebration in the Chizay tract with the recreation of traditions, a concert, and, of course, the new wine.

Free transfers from Uzhgorod and Mukachevo will be organized for the holiday, during the day, there will be open tours of the winery and the Winemaker Chiz Museum – the first Museum of Viticulture and Winemaking in Transcarpathia. Admission is free subject to registration on the site (at: https://chizay.com/new-wine/).
