“Mariupol on the edge” – the exhibition under this title is taking place in Uzhgorod

Olena Ukraintseva – a resident of Mariupol and Anna Torkayenko – a teacher and artist from Donetsk, who has been living and working in Mariupol for more than a year, presented their works on the second floor of the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life.   

"City between war and peace" – this is how one of the authors of works at the exhibition, Olena Ukrayintseva characterizes Mariupol. In addition to portraits of soldiers, the artist depicted on the canvas panoramas of the places where fighting occurred. The picture are completed with pieces of military uniforms and bullets gathered by residents of Mariupol.

Another author Anna Torkayenko says that she wanted to show how women live on the war when they hear shots and explosions.

Both authors are wives of volunteers. They started to paint the life of Mariupol this summer. Most of the works are taken from life.    

"Military still life", "Checkpoint", "Lot’s wife" are just a few titles of the exhibited works of art. In Uzhgorod, the exhibition of paintings by authors from the East will last two weeks.
