On the eve of Ukrainian Independence Day, solemn events took place in the regional center to celebrate the occasion. RSA chairman Olexander Ledyda and acting head of the regional council Volodymyr Zakurenyj congratulated Transcarpathians.
On occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine some residents of the region were awarded by the Regional State Administration with a badge "For the development of the region." The highest award of Transcarpathia was also given to a member of the executive committee of Uzhgorod City Council, Head of Regional Department of Ukrainian Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Union in Transcarpathian region Margarita Moshchak.
